Podcast logo“Now Hear This Entertainment” is a weekly podcast featuring interviews with guests who are having success in entertainment – primarily music.  A new episode has been delivered on-time, every week since February 2014.  The show has gotten listeners from 164 countries around the world and is one of the top two percent most popular shows out of more than 3.2 million podcasts globally.  “Now Hear This Entertainment” has had multiple placements in the iTunes Top Ten (Music category) and the show has received two honors and been nominated for three other awards. In late spring of 2021 it was in the "20 Best Entertainment Podcasts of 2021," as published by Welp Magazine.

Guests on NHTE have ranged from Roy Orbison, Jr. to the keyboard player for Aerosmith to the lead guitar player for Garth Brooks to the fiddle player for Taylor Swift to the drummer for Cheap Trick to the bass player for P!NK to the trumpet player for Billy Joel, plus, seven GRAMMY Award winners, two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, a Las Vegas headliner, three Emmy Award winners, and even participants from “American Idol,” “The Voice,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “The X Factor” (including one singer who won “The Voice”).  Guests have come from an array of genres and locales (the latter to include 17 different countries).

NHTE 36 Scarlett Rabe

A California-based singer/songwriter, her lyric video got voted onto MTV and she has over 1.3 million Likes on her Facebook page. When she was just ten years old she was teaching piano to approximately 25 students. She talks about the label she is signed with, her latest single, her previous releases, and how growing up as the oldest of eight children with no TV in the house and not being allowed to listen to the likes of the Rolling Stones or The Beatles shaped the songwriter – and the person – she has become.

NHTE 35 Frankie Scinta

A longtime headliner in Las Vegas, including at two casinos on ‘the strip,’ he sings and plays many instruments from piano to banjo. He talks about Wayne Newton and others coming to see the show, getting his start at a former NFL player’s sports bar, performing on cruise ships, the element of improv, advice for young entertainers, working alongside his brother every night, and a deep respect for those who made Las Vegas what it is today.

NHTE 34 Roxanna

An American Airlines music spotlight in August, Toronto-based singer/songwriter Roxanna talks on the heels of her debut release, “Exotica,” which features Chris Botti and was produced by Mark Portmann, whose credits include Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban, and Celine Dion, among others. Roxanna also tells of getting a well-known actor for one of her music videos, how being a nurse led to her music career, and her upcoming PBS special.

NHTE 33 Sarah Donner

Singer/songwriter Sarah Donner quit her day job last December, released her sixth album this Spring, has her own record label, tours, has a “sleepy kitten” video that went viral on YouTube (to the tune of almost one million views), is writing a musical, will have her first public art show later this year (in her home state of New Jersey), teaches guitar and voice, and has taught songwriting to kids at an arts camp for the last five years.

NHTE 32 Srinivas Rao

The author of the Wall Street Journal best seller “The Art of Being Unmistakable,” Srinivas Rao checks in from San Diego, where he manages to surf almost every day to balance his workload. He has been interviewed by Glenn Beck, who called Srini’s book “one of the most important pieces of writing I have seen in quite some time.” We also talk about his “Unmistakable Creative Podcast,” which has surpassed 500 episodes and had guests ranging from Seth Godin to bank robbers to artists.

NHTE 31 Steve Cherubino

Steve Cherubino plays guitar, drums, and keyboards, but is an Electronic Dance Music (EDM) producer, who also hosts a podcast highlighting that genre. He talks about how he creates his music, the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, guests he’s getting on his show – including a Grammy nominee – plus his respect for the likes of Hardwell, Skrillex, and Avicii.

NHTE 30 Mikel Paris

You’ve seen him on tour with O.A.R. and he has also played with Pink, Train, and Jewel. New York-based singer/songwriter Mikel Paris also does extensive solo work and has developed the art of guitar drumming. He has also created TuneTrek, a travel and music show that he’ll be pitching to networks soon. He also talks about the time that he spent with Broadway’s Stomp.

NHTE 29 Karlee Perez

SPECIAL EDITION – Former WWE Diva (“Maxine”), actress, and model Karlee Perez talks about the acting work she’s now getting, lessons learned from her time spent in the WWE, who there helped and continues to support her, and leaving WWE to start a new career. She also covers her charity work, a nutrition-based business endeavor, her thoughts on the passing of Robin Williams, and much more.

NHTE 28 Melissa Joiner

This Alabama-based singer/songwriter had shows five days in a row and will have played 22 shows in the month of August alone. She was ranked #1 on ReverbNation for her genre in her area, and hosted and helped create the largest songwriting competition in the Gulf Coast at the famed FloraBama. She will be recording later this month and also talks about having first started out in opera, although she quickly built up a big following in more mainstream genres.

NHTE 27 Chrissy Chase

Singer/songwriter Chrissy Chase has had approximately 30 songs placed on Nickelodeon, including a season finale of iCarly. She talks about getting and keeping that deal, forming her own publishing company, her songwriting process, experiences in New York and Nashville, the new projects she’s working toward releasing, and more.
