Notable Guest Quotes

“My goal with that EP was to also introduce some new Christmas music because I feel like, a lot of people – when they do decide to record a Christmas album – they record a lot of the old classics, which is great, but, they have all been done many times.”

“I usually write songs when I’m inspired by something in particular.”

“I feel like the songs that I connect to the most are the songs that have been written by someone for a very specific reason, even though I might not know that exact reason, but you can tell when a song has been written from a deeper meaning.”

“I’ve worked in a lot of different countries all around the world and it’s hard to tour or go around and see all these people because they’re so spread out.  So, to do these online concerts I reach more people easier.”

“Prepare (for an online show) as well as you would for a regular performance so you can deliver a good performance.”

“Winning awards is obviously the icing on the cake, but for me it’s about the work and just creating stuff that hopefully people will like.”

“If you don’t enjoy the everyday work and all that you have to do as an artist – meaning, practice, keep up with social media, write songs, record in the studio, rehearse, play shows – then the awards, they’re not worth as much as just the joy of doing what I do.”

“The more you share and help others, the more you will get back, actually.”

“I’ve actually shot, I think, three, or even four music videos now with the same team in Seattle, which is literally on the other side of the planet for me.  That’s just where collaboration might take you.”

“You’re going to be competing – if you want to call it that – with the same people, or, with people, all the time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be friends or collaborate on things.”

“I started out in musical theater, actually, so that’s sort of my first love, if you will, so I thought it was a bit scary in the beginning to go on stage as just me.”
