2015 Year in ReviewEach week a blog is posted to provide insights that will help performers take one more step in advancing their career.  The hope is to contribute to that vision you have of where you’re headed in both the near and distant future.

However, former U.S. President John F. Kennedy once said, “We can’t know where we’re going unless we know where we’ve been.”  And since there are times of frustration when it feels like you take two steps forward and one step back, this is a good point to reflect back on what advances you did make this year.  It’s okay to (briefly) celebrate the steps forward that you did take.

Maybe you released an EP or an album this year.  Or maybe you learned how to play a new instrument in 2015.  On the booking front, perhaps at some point in these last twelve months you finally got to perform at someplace that was always on your list of coveted venues.  This might have even been the year that you finally performed outside your home state.  Somewhere in there you maybe had some media coverage that you were particularly proud of.  Make a list and remind yourself that you are making progress.

For Now Hear This, quite a bit happened.  In no particular order, we:
1.    Neared the 100 episodes milestone for our weekly show, “Now Hear This Entertainment” (number 99 comes out the day after tomorrow)
2.    Coincidentally, approached nearly 100 countries around the world where the show has been heard
3.    Launched an Instagram account for the show
4.    Published the second eBook for up-and-comers to utilize as a resource for tips they can apply immediately to their music career
5.    Our company president, Bruce Wawrzyniak, was chosen to be a panelist at the Driven Music Conference that was scheduled for Atlanta in November
6.    He also contributed a guest blog to the International Acoustic Music Awards
7.    Passed the one-year mark for the weekly blog on our site
8.    Gained media placements for clients in the likes of Entrepreneur Magazine, SiriusXM Radio, and iHeart Radio, among many (many!) others
9.    Began working for new clients Courtney Welch, Debra Yates, Pete O’Shea, Topper’s Creamery, Upper Cervical Center of Brandon, and Zarrilli Training and Consulting
10.    Had a presence at the 7th Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival, both company- and client-wise

Can you do a top ten list for this year?  And now what about next year?  What are you targeting for 2016?  We recently got one of our clients’ blogs published on a website that gets approximately 1.5 million unique visitors every month.  He wrote about goal-setting, which you should be doing now for the new year, if you haven’t already.

Congratulations on your 2015 successes.  Thank you for reading the blog here each week.  And best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2016.
