"Females... are just kind of taking control of their careers these days and it's just more well known that way. And I think that I'm more fortunate to have grown up in this day and age to be able to follow my heart and push towards my career goals. But I also think it's just such a shame that it's not like that everywhere around the world and that females are still not able to get the education that I'm fortunate enough to have here in America."
"There are more pop artists and pop writers than you would think here in Nashville. It's just a great place to learn how to write a song as well."
"As an artist, any of your songs you're just... trying to get it heard. Especially as an independent artist it's so important to get it heard because, I always say, it's like, you can be like Mariah Carey and have the best song ever but unless you can get it heard and promote it the right way and market it, it's not going to go anywhere."
"People don't take skin cancer seriously, honestly, it's like they don't really think it's like a real cancer sometimes. It's like, 'Ah, it's just a spot, I'll remove it.' But especially melanoma too is very fatal if you don't catch it in time. Catching it in early stages is probably the most important part of making sure that it doesn't spread."
"A lot of the costumes in that music video are costumes I designed or styled or put together and also the dancers as well, and I also did the choreography for that music video too -- and set design!"
"People think that what they see on television is the only thing that's going on - it's like, I think maybe an hour-and-a-half or two hours that they televise - but really, the Grammy Awards goes on almost all day because they have a whole sequence of awards that they give out that you don't even see on television."
