Notable Guest Quotes

"For me I think the studio has become its own art form and that the live show has become a separate thing... I don't want to recreate what we did in the studio... I want to make something different and give people who are coming to the live shows a different experience."

"As artists we're kind of just this mix of our influences and where we come from and our experiences and our teachers even."

"I've done videos different ways.  The predominant way that we do it is we record (audio) first and then we shoot (video).  So it's really like a music video."

"I was not afraid to, as I started making money, to put it right back into gear 'cause the scary thing for me is always that idea that you can't make any money until you make an album and you can't make an album until you make money and you're in that position where you have to ask people for money."

"YouTube really doesn't pay a ton for musicians, I hate to break that to anyone.  But most of my income comes from Spotify and iTunes, actually."

"Early on (making videos) was very DIY, guerilla style... we didn't run into too many problems outside.  We did run into one issue at a building for a cover (song).  We were filming and, like, three-fourths of the way through filming we had a building manager ran in, started yelling at us, like, 'What are you doing here?!' and we thought we had permission... There was some miscommunication and he was basically threatening to call the police."

"I feel like I'm finally getting to that place where I'm more relaxed about collaborating with different creative minds and it's been really exciting."

"I've kind of found my voice inside a studio when you're working with a lot of different people...  It's a different thing.  I think it's just... one of those things as an artist you get better every time you're in a studio.  Figuring out how to get your creative ideas across but also when to let other people shine at what they do."

"I put my music up very early on Spotify... Years and years ago when everyone in Nashville was like, 'This is the death of, streaming is the death of the music industry... they don't pay anything.'  I was just always sort of under the impression that, just get it out.  I want anyone in the world, if they want to listen to my music to be able to find it, however, like easily."
