Podcast logo“Now Hear This Entertainment” is a weekly podcast featuring interviews with guests who are having success in entertainment – primarily music.  A new episode has been delivered on-time, every week since February 2014.  The show has gotten listeners from 165 countries around the world and is one of the top two percent most popular shows out of more than 3.2 million podcasts globally.  “Now Hear This Entertainment” has had multiple placements in the iTunes Top Ten (Music category) and the show has received two honors and been nominated for three other awards. In late spring of 2021 it was in the "20 Best Entertainment Podcasts of 2021," as published by Welp Magazine.

Guests on NHTE have ranged from Roy Orbison, Jr. to the keyboard player for Aerosmith to the lead guitar player for Garth Brooks to the fiddle player for Taylor Swift to the drummer for Cheap Trick to the bass player for P!NK to the trumpet player for Billy Joel, plus, seven GRAMMY Award winners, two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, a Las Vegas headliner, three Emmy Award winners, and even participants from “American Idol,” “The Voice,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “The X Factor” (including one singer who won “The Voice”).  Guests have come from an array of genres and locales (the latter to include 17 different countries).

NHTE 50 Lindsay Bruce

A 2014 participant on “The Voice” who also got to sing with Keith Urban during one of his concerts, this singer/songwriter just released an EP last month and splits her time between the San Francisco area and Nashville. She also talks about being interviewed by MLB.com and plans she’s laying out for 2015, plus, of course, working with both Shakira and Miranda Lambert, and more.

NHTE 49 Mark Goujon

He served in Iraq doing counter-IED missions (Improvised Explosive Device), losing three team members in six months and an entire EOD team (Explosive Ordinance Disposal). Now Mark Goujon is a songwriter who released two songs last year, both of which had unique stories around them. He also talks about media coverage he has gotten, adapting poetry into songs, how he got connected to Nashville, and more.

NHTE 48 Susan Golden

Founder of the global event, Universal Music Day, and author of “ABZs of Musical Instruments.” She also discusses how she claimed her singing voice (after thinking she was tone deaf) and how people can get involved with Universal Music Day, plus she talks about an Oprah Winfrey event she was invited to and a podcast of her own that she hopes to start.

Gasparilla Music Festival Executive Director Ty Rodriguez talks about the two-day annual event, including how bands are chosen for it (plus dos and don’ts), lessons learned, being a fan, and a number of artists he has seen in concert more than 50 times each, including one who was his escape from New York following the 9/11 attacks.

The “Most Promising Female Songwriter 2013” as awarded by Tennessee Songwriters Association International talks about performing online, using crowdfunding, embracing marketing and social media, giving away songs for free, her two songs played during this episode, leaving Pennsylvania for Nashville, and more.

NHTE 45 Maddy Rodriguez

A 21-year old Canadian singer/songwriter who had a song placed on the TV show "Army Wives." Another of her songs won at the 8th annual International Acoustic Music Awards in the Country category, and she was the youngest ever artist/songwriter to win the overall grand prize at the IAMA. She has a new EP coming out in February.

NHTE 44 Sunny Sweeney

Opening for Miranda Lambert in 2015 on select dates during the Certified Platinum Tour, Sunny Sweeney released her third album in August. One of the songs has already had major success on SiriusXM. A singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas, she was nominated for Best New Female Vocalist at last year’s Academy of Country Music Awards and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry more than 40 times. Two videos on her YouTube channel have combined for almost four million views.

NHTE 43 Lara Wisdom

With a new EP slated for release early next year, this singer/songwriter plays guitar and piano and has opened for the likes of Montgomery Gentry, Rascal Flatts, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Patty Loveless. Lara previously released two albums and, although based in Nashville, has played in locations ranging from there in Tennessee, of course, to Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, and Colorado. Hear why she says, “For women in country music it’s a tough, tough, tough business.”

NHTE 42 Karen Waldrup

This Nashville-based singer/songwriter has made two appearances on Bravo TV, played at the NFL Experience at the Super Bowl in early 2013, released four albums, performed internationally, makes an exclusive announcement about a new item she will be releasing, and talks about her new single, whose music video premiered on CMT.com.

NHTE 41 CJ Watson

A Nashville-based singer/songwriter that has written approximately seven THOUSAND songs, he makes an exclusive announcement about his current group, Asteria Lux. CJ has performed at the famed Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Café, and was part of the first rock band ever to tour China. He also wrote a book on songwriting, has had TV and film placements, and his music has been featured in the Rockband video game.
