Podcast logo“Now Hear This Entertainment” is a weekly podcast featuring interviews with guests who are having success in entertainment – primarily music.  A new episode has been delivered on-time, every week since February 2014.  The show has gotten listeners from 165 countries around the world and is one of the top two percent most popular shows out of more than 3.2 million podcasts globally.  “Now Hear This Entertainment” has had multiple placements in the iTunes Top Ten (Music category) and the show has received two honors and been nominated for three other awards. In late spring of 2021 it was in the "20 Best Entertainment Podcasts of 2021," as published by Welp Magazine.

Guests on NHTE have ranged from Roy Orbison, Jr. to the keyboard player for Aerosmith to the lead guitar player for Garth Brooks to the fiddle player for Taylor Swift to the drummer for Cheap Trick to the bass player for P!NK to the trumpet player for Billy Joel, plus, seven GRAMMY Award winners, two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, a Las Vegas headliner, three Emmy Award winners, and even participants from “American Idol,” “The Voice,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “The X Factor” (including one singer who won “The Voice”).  Guests have come from an array of genres and locales (the latter to include 17 different countries).

NHTE 80 Matt Hines

A singer/songwriter who plays guitar and piano, he released an EP early this year that he went to Nashville to record. He talks during this interview about the crowdfunding campaign he ran in the lead up to the EP. Plus, he discusses performing on the fairs and festivals circuit. At the time of this interview he was ranked #1 on ReverbNation in his area for his genre. He also talks about juggling being a husband, father, and school music teacher while trying to further his career as a recording artist.

NHTE 79 Natalie Jean

She has been on the Grammy ballot and released a new album the week this interview was recorded, which was one year after having released a self-titled album. In just the last two months alone she has gotten an array of nominations. She performs extensively in the mid-Atlantic states and has even authored a book in addition to being a songwriter.

NHTE 78 Mike E. Winfield

He has been on NBC’s “The Office,” plus “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Comedy Central, Showtime, MTV2, “The Arsenio Hall Show,” and much more. He is working on a one-hour special to be filmed and talks about possible distribution of it, plus he touches on a movie he will be in, as well as getting started in comedy (himself and advice for others). Mike also talks about his office when he’s on the road as well as what he listens for in reviewing his own performances.

NHTE 77 Chuck Murphy

A singer, songwriter, and producer who also talks about branding and licensing, as well as big results he achieved through social media. He has a solo EP coming out next month but also plays with a band. He has written and produced music for several independent movies. He has worked with many notable entertainers, including the likes of Orleans and Robbie Dupree.

NHTE 76 Jordan Allena

She performed as part of the recent CMA Music Festival in Nashville, where she now lives, although she has also lived and performed in L.A. and Las Vegas. A singer/songwriter, she is working on her second EP, has already gotten a cut, and has performed with the likes of Florida Georgia Line and Josh Thompson. Also accomplished in dance, she has done so for a Miley Cyrus clothing line TV commercial, a Justin Bieber video, and a Britney Spears video game. Plus she teaches dance.

NHTE 75 Ann Burstyn

The lead vocalist for Dream Aria, ranked number one on the overall ReverbNation charts. The band has released three CDs, is working on new music, and has a video in heavy rotation on DirecTV. She talks about performing with her childhood idol, Glenn Hughes, formerly of Deep Purple, and about many influences that have resulted in Dream Aria’s wide ranging sound. She also advocates for vocal health and lists the long line of musicians in her family.

NHTE 74 Windy Wagner

She sang on more than 600 songs for the hit FOX television show “Glee” and sings on Rod Stewart’s new upcoming album as well as Richie Sambora and Orianthi’s upcoming release as well as Ringo Starr’s new “Postcards From Paradise” album. She has been a background vocalist on “Jimmy Kimmel,” “The Tonight Show,” and for the likes of live performances by Elton John, James Taylor, and K.D. Lang. She just got a cut with Britney Spears, after having released a new single and accompanying video last month.

NHTE 73 Lachi

A singer/songwriter who plays piano and last week had a new EP come out (released through Trend Def/Sony Music). She also has a novel coming out, late this month or early next month, entitled “The Ivory Staff.” Her music has been featured on “Oprah” and CBS Radio. Earlier this year she had three songs placed on national television, including on “Bad Girls Club” and “Total Divas.” She has recorded and performed in L.A. and New York and once even opened for Patti LaBelle. She has also performed at SXSW.

NHTE 72 Nelson Montana

He plays ELEVEN different instruments, has released four CDs, and has played with everyone from Grammy Award winner Nile Rodgers to Bo Diddly, Chuck Berry, The Drifters, and Ben Vereen, among many (many) others. He has over 250 videos on YouTube and appeared on the Daytime Dramas "All My Children" and “Guiding Light” from 1999 to 2005 and has written for several magazines, with more than 300 articles published.

NHTE 71 Maggie Rose

This 2015 CMA Fest performer had a song that cracked the top 60 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and has been streamed more than 1.6 million times on Spotify. She had a video that debuted at Number 1 on Great American Country’s Top 20 Countdown. On this episode we get the exclusive on songs she hasn’t even released yet, playing two of her new tracks as she works toward an EP release later this year, which is being done in both L.A. and Nashville.
