Notable Guest Quotes

“I actually did get emotional in the studio listening to it because I was like, wow this is really piecing together, bringing out the emotion that you would think you should feel in that moment and I think by the end of the song (Matter of Time) too it gets really vulnerable.”

“I also like to work with, his name is Sol Philcox-Littlefield, and he is just truly phenomenal. He's been nominated for ACM Guitarist of the Year for, like, the last couple years and he has his own studio down in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, so I went down there and we recorded.”

“I started singing before I could speak really.”

“We are on the very coast. If you take I-40 it ends in Wilmington, North Carolina; go from California all the way to Wilmington. We are a port city. It was truly such a cool place to grow up. If you're a fan of
any TV shows like ‘One Tree Hill’ or ‘Dawson's Creek’ or ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty,’ we were like East Coast Hollywood for quite some time.”

“I came (to Nashville) for the first time, I think it was that August of 2020, and started picking up some gigs here. I remember that first trip that I made I had booked some Broadway gigs but then while I was here, I kept booking other gigs… I would go to my hotel and be like ‘I need to extend another night’!”

“We always joke that I rolled into town like a tornado because I literally that night went to sleep and woke up to a tornado blowing a tree through my window.”

“I feel everything really deeply and I feel like I also gain a lot of my songwriting inspiration just driving in the car.”

“He was like, ‘Yeah, come meet me for lunch’ … and… when I pulled up, I saw the sign and it was Blackbird Studios and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that's a pretty iconic studio’.”

“My goal has just been to try as many things as I possibly can and figure out truly what my sound is and where I lean into things the best.”

“You evolve as a person and a human. Nothing will stay the same and nobody wants it to stay the same so being experimental in itself is always fun and if you're creative, I think it comes naturally.”

“It's all about building community around your story and your songs and what people are drawn to; what they want to hear, what they relate to.”
