Having moved to Nashville twice but lived in India for one year between those moves, this singer/songwriter talks about the musical instrument he learned in the Asian country, his new single, his successful crowdfunding campaign, plus his hiring of a booking agent resulting in shows coming up in Nashville, North Carolina, Georgia, and Oklahoma, and other aspects of his rejuvenated career.
“I find that I actually finish songs more often, I feel like, when I have a co-writer.”
“When I did (crowdfunding campaign), initially I struggled a little bit with the idea, and I think some of that was just the pride of it, like, oh I don’t want to ask people for money, that feels kinda weird. But I talked to a few people about it and sort of changed my thinking on it and really looked at it more of actually, like, I’m giving people an opportunity to invest in what I do, and there are enough people out there that care.”
“I would say I learned more in my first hour lesson with her than I had in six months by myself.”
“I honestly felt like I was dying. I felt like I was the closest to death that I had ever been.”
“I would say… that the writer in me for a long time was actually broken.”
