The Hazelrigg Brothers and singer/songwriter Jessica Lynn performed and then sat down for these interviews during the Winter 2017 NAMM show in California. The Hazelrigg Brothers – Geoff and George – have a new album out but also have an electronics company, just acquired another, and even talk here about their love of aviation. Jessica Lynn has toured nationally and internationally, including opening for Loretta Lynn and Phil Vassar, among others. She has two specials airing on PBS and, along with her band, will be opening for ZZ Top this summer.

“We’ve taken so much time to figure out really what works the best. It’s going through a lot of equipment, a lot of microphones, and a lot of recording media.”
“We’re big into supporting ourselves by learning to do things ourselves.”
“We’re accustomed to playing on large wooden instruments. I’ve got a hatchback – a large hatchback vehicle – that we have to take to our gigs, especially if we have to carry drums, bass … and a drummer.”

“Some of my earliest memories ever were running around the house singing ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ by Glen Campbell and I guess it just kind of stuck with me ever since then.”
“I started my first band when I was 13 years old and started writing all my own stuff and playing out. My parents were driving me to Manhattan on school nights.”
“…the first television special, we filmed it – put it together – in, like, a month-and-a-half, and it actually went nationwide on PBS Television.”
“Hard work does pay off. You can do anything you set your mind to.”
“If you believe in yourself and really believe that you can do it, you can. You just gotta brush yourself off, get back up, and keep trying again – you get ‘No’ here, you go here for a ‘Yes.’”
“When you’ve been doing it for such a long time you pretty much have seen everything and experienced everything. We’ve had sound systems blow up in the middle of a show and we’ve sat on the edge of the stage with guitars not plugged in and just sang. You kinda just learn to roll with whatever comes your way.”
