National touring and recording artist, Christian singer/songwriter who plays guitar and has toured with some of the biggest names in Christian music. The interview was done just after she had made a big personal announcement, which she talks about during this episode, along with music plans for 2016 and a look back at a significant business lesson from 2015. Chosen specifically for this milestone episode for the show, Lindsay had previously been interviewed on Episode 11, which had on numerous other episodes been referred to as “my favorite episode” by NHTE host Bruce Wawrzyniak.
“It’s the first all-girl tour that I’ve been on… it was awesome and so much fun, and so different to not have all these brother figures around.”
“I went over to … my co-writer’s… house and I just said, ‘Okay, Jeff, you play the song, slowly, and I’ll take pictures of your hands while you do it.’ And so, that’s how I learned to play ‘One More Step’ – he played it and would form the chords with his fingers and I learned how to play it that way. I just kept going through the pictures and memorizing it and that is the only song I play on piano.”
“When I have longer shows, I always feel like I want to bring someone with me (on stage) to kind of add something musically.”
“It’s funny and kind of ironic because that was the whole message of ‘One More Step,’ on my album that came out a while ago, and here I am still, a while later, learning the same lesson.”
“I think if I think about (becoming a mom while still being all-in with music) for a minute I’m like, ‘Oh man, what am I gonna do?’ But, fortunately, I have a lot of friends, some of my very best friends, are moms… All these women who are amazing moms, and also are out on the road and traveling with their kids and bringing them with them.”
“I just wanna write more. I think I’ve taken off the pressure of, ‘I have to have an album out every, ya’ know, year-and-a-half,’ or whatever it is. I just wanna write more and be open to whatever is coming. I would like to do a Christmas album, at least an EP, because I love Christmas and I do a lot of Christmas shows.”
