“I was kind of one of those people that I initially was like, I am going to just write and produce and just dive into everything and definitely have had moments where I burned the candle at both ends. But I’m just one of those people, I’m a work horse, I love to be busy.”
“All of these songs are true songs that come from inspiration of my life or actually just full out my story.”
“As much as I was falling into who I was as an artist, I also had developed a new emotional relationship for myself, coming from abuse and coming from a dark past that I had come from in my life.”
“I had a lot of deals offered my way and it was kind of one of those things where, where I’m at, I didn’t a hundred percent have the interest and the full motivation at that point to sign your traditional 360 deal where you do have someone kind of telling you who you are and what you’re gonna wear and what your branding is gonna be and that’s just not who I am.”
“Your plan is gonna unfold and you’re gonna have opportunities that come out there that make sense for you and give you the opportunities that you want in life on all facets of what you’re looking for in your journey.”
“I remember when I had… gotten off the show, on The Voice, and my (home)town was like, ‘Get out of here. This is your chance to do this thing and we want to see you win’.”
“Music was such a centric part of my life. It was so important because it’s really what kept my head above water. I grew up in a situation where I had an abusive father, both mentally and physically, and music was my escape.”
“It’s very crazy and almost surreal to think of some of the things that I’ve been through and have gotten through and have not either been arrested or dead by now, honestly.”
“My message is always, It does not matter where you come from, you don’t have to stay there. And I am living proof of that.”
“One of the biggest takeaways from The Voice was actually the fact, weirdly enough, that it was my very first time ever having vocal training.”
