Sister duo currently working on new music that they hope to release next year. They continue performing all around Florida - including playing some very notable venues and events (performed at the House of Blues three times last year) - while also going back and forth to Nashville. The girls have been extremely successful building their following, to the tune of a combined 340 thousand on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. For the second straight week we have a sister duo that has been on NHTE before, as Diamond Dixie previously appeared on this show way back on Episode 63.
(Bianca) "As songwriters you really just kind of need to channel that inner storyteller. Even if it's a story you haven't experienced, you need to channel other people's emotions to write a song that someone else might be relating to."
(Gabriela) "It's weird how you can write about someone's story and it really doesn't mean that much to you but it means so much to the other person."
(Gabriela) "Music is our work and it's what we love to do. That's our number one... school is number two, and our social life is number three."
(Bianca) "If you're just starting out with putting out merchandise, definitely start with just a few items to see how well it goes and how well your fan base responds to it."
(Gabriela) "I think (Instagram) Direct Messages are awesome because that fan is taking their own personal time to reach out to you and say, 'Hey you guys are so awesome. I listen to your music.' We think that's so awesome."
(Gabriela) "I think it's best to just look at your analytics and what the majority of your demographic is, post during that time."
(Bianca) "I feel like for other shows that aren't the House of Blues they're just kind of wanting you there just to provide live music. But then for the House of Blues... shows they are there counting on you to bring the following."
(Gabriela) "A lot of musicians, they get asked what their favorite part of the music industry is and some people are like, 'Oh the recording.' Some people say the songwriting. For us it's the show."
(Bianca) "I feel like... listening to classic rock and watching live videos of older rock bands has kind of influenced that love for putting on a show."
