Now Hear This is pleased to announce that author and educator Brooke Carnwath has chosen the agency to support the upcoming release of her debut middle-grade novel, Far From the Ocean's Edge, which will be published on September 1.

"We are excited to begin working with Brooke during such an important time in her writing career," said Bruce Wawrzyniak, Founder and President of Now Hear This. "Her dedication to writing, teaching, and lifelong learning is evident throughout her work, and we look forward to helping introduce Far From the Ocean's Edge to bookstores, libraries, reviewers, readers, and media outlets ahead of its release."

As part of the new relationship, Now Hear This will assist Carnwath with social media, publicity, media outreach, and promotional efforts surrounding the launch of Far From the Ocean's Edge. Published by She Writes Press, the novel follows twelve-year-old Skye, whose search for the father she has never met leads her from coastal Maine to Wyoming, where she discovers unexpected friendships, family connections, and lessons about what truly makes a family complete.

Based in Bozeman, Montana, Carnwath has spent nearly two decades teaching writing while building a diverse body of literary work. Her writing credits include a 44-page picture book, two novels for young readers, and a creative nonfiction project centered on the Yoga Sutras that received an honorable mention in Hay House Publishing's 2024 book contest. Her flash fiction has also appeared in Women On Writing and in the Elk River Writers Workshop anthology Voices Elevated.

Carnwath earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Montana. Since beginning her teaching career in 2007, she has remained active in the literary community through fiction classes and multi-genre workshops with organizations including The Writers Studio, Bread Loaf School of English, Jackson Hole Writers Conference, and Elk River Writers Workshop.

Today, Carnwath serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Montana State University, where she teaches in both the Honors College and College of Letters and Sciences. She has also taught writing courses at Blue Mountain Community College, Eastern Oregon University, and the University of Montana. In addition to her work as an author and educator, she is a professional editor, certified yoga instructor, Reiki practitioner and master teacher, and Open Focus Meditation coach.
