Podcast logo“Now Hear This Entertainment” is a weekly podcast featuring interviews with guests who are having success in entertainment – primarily music.  A new episode has been delivered on-time, every week since February 2014.  The show has gotten listeners from 165 countries around the world and is one of the top two percent most popular shows out of more than 3.2 million podcasts globally.  “Now Hear This Entertainment” has had multiple placements in the iTunes Top Ten (Music category) and the show has received two honors and been nominated for three other awards. In late spring of 2021 it was in the "20 Best Entertainment Podcasts of 2021," as published by Welp Magazine.

Guests on NHTE have ranged from Roy Orbison, Jr. to the keyboard player for Aerosmith to the lead guitar player for Garth Brooks to the fiddle player for Taylor Swift to the drummer for Cheap Trick to the bass player for P!NK to the trumpet player for Billy Joel, plus, seven GRAMMY Award winners, two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, a Las Vegas headliner, three Emmy Award winners, and even participants from “American Idol,” “The Voice,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “The X Factor” (including one singer who won “The Voice”).  Guests have come from an array of genres and locales (the latter to include 17 different countries).

NHTE 195 Geissie Torres

A singer, songwriter, and entertainer, who is releasing a new single this month and working towards an EP. She is a regular performer at Mango’s Tropical Cafe (2500 capacity) in Orlando, entertaining audiences in two shows each night. But, she has also performed extensively away from there, including not only outside Florida but even televised performances as well, notably in Mexico for “Va Por Ti” on Univision. And it should be noted that she also is a bi-lingual singer as well.

NHTE 194 Cody Joe Hodges

Texas-based singer, songwriter, guitar player who has spent time in Nashville as well as in the U.S. Army – including performing! He has gotten radio airplay and has had at least five different singles land on various music charts, while performing at everything from live music venues to fairs & festivals, professional sporting events, and private events. He has an upcoming tour/radio tour, going from Alabama to Virginia, and another next month going from Austin, Texas to New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado.

NHTE 193 Kathryn Hoxie

A singer, songwriter, vocal character actor, author, illustrator, and public speaker. She is also the Chief Operating Officer of What’s Hot In Hip Hop. She performed at South By Southwest this and last year. In August 2015 she released her first full-length album and is currently working on a new EP, having released singles in between. She is a voting member of the Grammys and also talks during this interview about three different crowdfunding campaigns she has undertaken.

NHTE 192 Oliver Sean

A former MTV VJ based in England, he is a singer, songwriter, guitar player who recently released his fourth studio album, which landed on the iTunes Best Selling Pre-Orders list. An MTV Europe Music Awards nominee, Rolling Stone magazine said, “It’s like The Eagles have hired Jack Johnson for some lessons on lightening up.” One year ago VH1 released one of his music videos and the BBC have already picked up one of his songs for rotation. He is touring in England and will soon be performing in the Americas.

NHTE 191 Christian Swain

The founder and host of The Rock N Roll Archaeology Project, which consists of six different podcasts, all surrounding the rock genre. He also has an exciting announcement about a new podcast project in addition to all of those. He himself is a musician, handling lead vocals and guitar in a classic rock band called Tinman, and talks about their upcoming CD release. In his early years his band headlined in the big music venues on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood.

NHTE 190 Laura Wright

Las Vegas singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. She previously released a full-length album and then put out a five-song Christmas EP last December. Now she is working on a new album. She was a semi-finalist on season five of “American Idol.” She does a solo guest entertainer show on a wide variety of cruise lines, performs in Las Vegas with a group called The Moonshiners and also as a guest entertainer in a group called Divas3. Plus she is a featured singer in “Vegas! The Show” at Planet Hollywood.

NHTE 189 William Crighton

An Australian singer/songwriter who is currently recording his second record for Universal Music, working with producer Matt Sherrod. Last October, Rolling Stone said he, “breathes fresh and strikingly vivid life into the umbrous bush of traditional Australian balladry.” This year he has performed on both coasts of Canada and put out a 7-inch vinyl release and digital single. He has also performed with The Beach Boys and The Temptations.

NHTE 188 Charlie Midnight

A producer, lecturer, author, mentor, and songwriter who has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, ranging from Barbra Streisand to Hillary Duff to The Doobie Brothers to Cher, James Brown, and many more. He has earned Grammy and Golden Globe nominations and he has been involved in the writing, conceptualization and production of albums throughout his career that have sold in excess of 50 million copies. As a performer he had gotten signed to a major record label.

NHTE 187 Dinorah Zamora

Recorded on-location in San Diego with a Mexican born singer/songwriter who has performed internationally and is working towards an EP release. Already in her young career she has been involved in charitable works, and, she has worked with Carlos Santana’s former guitar teacher. At the time of the interview she was ranked Number 1 on ReverbNation for her genre in San Diego. She also talks about filming in China for her music video, which got over 16 thousand views in its first two months.

NHTE 186 Glenn McCoy

An illustrator, animator, cartoonist, and children’s book author, whose work includes the syndicated comic strips The Duplex and The Flying McCoys. His nationally syndicated editorial cartoons have been reprinted in the New York Times, USA Today, and Newsweek, and appear frequently on CNN. He also works for many of the top magazines, greeting card companies, and publishing houses in the country. His clients range from Playboy to Parade and he has designed and written for several TV and feature animation studios including Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox, and Walt Disney TV, among others.
