Podcast logo“Now Hear This Entertainment” is a weekly podcast featuring interviews with guests who are having success in entertainment – primarily music.  A new episode has been delivered on-time, every week since February 2014.  The show has gotten listeners from 165 countries around the world and is one of the top two percent most popular shows out of more than 3.2 million podcasts globally.  “Now Hear This Entertainment” has had multiple placements in the iTunes Top Ten (Music category) and the show has received two honors and been nominated for three other awards. In late spring of 2021 it was in the "20 Best Entertainment Podcasts of 2021," as published by Welp Magazine.

Guests on NHTE have ranged from Roy Orbison, Jr. to the keyboard player for Aerosmith to the lead guitar player for Garth Brooks to the fiddle player for Taylor Swift to the drummer for Cheap Trick to the bass player for P!NK to the trumpet player for Billy Joel, plus, seven GRAMMY Award winners, two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, a Las Vegas headliner, three Emmy Award winners, and even participants from “American Idol,” “The Voice,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “The X Factor” (including one singer who won “The Voice”).  Guests have come from an array of genres and locales (the latter to include 17 different countries).

NHTE 395 Schuyler Fisk

Singer, songwriter, guitar player, and actress whose newest single was released in July. At one point in her career, she was signed to Universal Records, and she has performed in locations such as Japan, Nashville, as well as at South By Southwest and even the famous Hotel Café in Los Angeles. She also even toured with Sheryl Crow. At the start of her music career her debut album climbed to #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart and nowadays she has more than 51 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify alone. She has a new album due out this Fall.

NHTE 394 Audra McLaughlin

Nashville-based singer, songwriter, guitar player who was on this show just under two years ago and has continued her momentum. Just under two months ago she put out her second single of 2021. Last year she signed a publishing deal with Jimmy Mattingly and Johnny Garcia, and she is a spokesperson for renowned vocal coach Kati Henricks’ new masterclass series. The groundwork is being laid for her to tour in the UK next year.

NHTE 393 Dallas Remington

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist whose latest single was released in late May. A song that she released last year won two awards and has more than 650 thousand streams on Spotify. She has opened for Montgomery Gentry and a number of other notable names. She is a member of the Country Music Association and BMI, among other music organizations. She has a handful of endorsements, and she does extensive volunteer work. She has performed in Tennessee, where she's based, as well as in Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri.

The founder, CEO, and Director of Artist Support for The Artist Minds, which provides awareness, education, and action to promote the well being and longevity of the lives of music industry professionals. A multi-state licensed mental health therapist, coach, consultant and advocate, she has over 12 years of clinical experience and specialty training in trauma, grief, self-harm, eating disorders, mindfulness, co-dependency, anxiety, depression and conflict resolution.

NHTE 391 Jamie Gale

He has been called “the preeminent authority on the guitar.” He is an experienced artist, retailer, gallerist, curator, distributor, manufacturer, consultant, and public speaker. Last year, in the midst of the pandemic, he curated a boutique guitar showcase, touring 15 cities in eight countries. Among the many hats he wears, he is also a consultant to NAMM – the largest musical instrument trade organization in the world.

NHTE 390 State of the Music Recording Industry

After no in-person gatherings last summer, 2020, or this past January, there certainly has to be some curiosity as to what things look like on the other side of a worldwide pandemic that kept people around the globe locked inside, including musicians who suddenly had no gigs, no venues to go to, and certainly a monumental challenge of "can I continue to sustain a career in this industry." Not to mention, with so many businesses impacted by what we all went through, how did they alter their operations to keep going.

Award-winning songwriter, singer, producer, and musician based in New York who just released a new single last month after having put out a four-song EP in January. He has worked with GRAMMY, Tony, and Emmy-Award winning artists and winners of “The Voice.” He has performed in venues as varied as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, MTV Unplugged, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the United Nations, and The Bitter End. Plus, he has performed with artists spanning Florence + The Machine to Boyz II Men.

NHTE 388 Melissa B

New York-based singer, songwriter, philanthropist, author, and GRAMMY member. She is a Billboard-charted artist and was also nominated for the Josie Music Awards for “Best Female Artist of the Year” for independent artists. Plus, she is an activist with a non-profit of hers that she talks about in this interview. Her official YouTube channel has a combined total of well over 850 thousand video views. And, one of her songs has more than 1.1 million streams and another has over 800 thousand on Spotify, where she has over 21 thousand monthly listeners.

NHTE 387 Joshua Rich and Kari Kraakevik

They perform and record in Colorado as a duo called Take Two, having just released an album in the second half of April, with new songs already written towards a follow-up project. He is a pianist, composer, and vocalist who has created and released over 30 CDs of original music. And, he has been on this show before, well over three years ago on Episode 207. She is a composer, performer, and teacher, and is the owner and founder of Boulder Music and Reel Kids.

NHTE 386 Blake Morgan

With a new album currently being mixed, he is a recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer who is also the founder and owner of the global company ECR Music Group. He is also an activist with iRespectMusic and was the guest on Episode 208 of this show. In the three-plus years since then there has been about 130 thousand miles of touring and about 15 records with as many artists. Billboard Magazine said he has, “a voice that was made to be heard on the radio… inspired songwriting and passionate performances.”
