We live in a generation where everything is designed to happen faster. We want instant gratification. People want tangible overnight success: Likes, followers, viewers, a dream business, a dream house, a trusting relationship. The main key that people have the hardest time with– especially in a generation where we want short-cuts to everything– is patience. It’s the hardest to master. The very thing we struggle to trust is the very thing we need most.

Why does the process matter?
In between where the pause is, comes uncertainty, but it’s the foundation to what becomes a more valuable product. Without the foundation, the house wouldn’t be as stable or long-lasting. The house being that dream business or venture you are trying to establish. In the moment, you may look at an unfinished product with doubt, asking yourself, “Will this all be worth it?” Now, the part that people always get wrong is they give up too soon because results aren’t immediately visible. The only way to get that dream end vision is to wait. The bigger the value, the more long-term investment. It will take time for it to flourish into success.
When we only see the great outcome, it's easy to forget the process. We begin measuring our own beginnings against someone else's milestones, questioning why we aren't further along or why our own efforts haven't produced the same results. In doing so, this constant comparison creates an unnecessary urgency to catch up. We might end up rushing decisions, overlooking important details, or abandoning something that could have grown into something meaningful simply because we feel behind. You are not failing just because your milestone moment hasn’t happened yet. Your own vision isn’t going to look like someone else’s. Sticking with something long enough could give you a product better than you could’ve imagined.

Why does comparing your timeline negatively impact long-term success?
Social media allows us to have an inside look into people's highlight reels. Whether it’s material possessions, career achievements, or a loving relationship, we can access other people's best moments with a simple swipe. This creates a false sense of reality that these individuals just “have” these achievements happening right away. Yes, in some cases there may be that lucky chance, but most don’t see that final product right away. What we don’t see behind the 30-second video is the years of hardship, failure, mistakes, and overall time it took for them to reach that higher level of success.
With just a scroll, you can get answers to questions that would’ve taken time for people to research back when knowledge wasn’t so instantaneous. We can find information in seconds, but actual knowledge takes time to understand. We can gain random followers overnight, but do they really know you?
Why is it harmful if everything is guaranteed right away?
Building trust with an audience requires consistency and real connection. We can launch a new business with just a few clicks, but establishing something sustainable requires intentionality and the willingness to learn from mistakes. Without trial and error, how would you know what is actually working? How would you know how to explain to people the mission behind what you’re building? How can an audience know they can rely on you?
If everything was perfect in an instant, there wouldn’t be necessary hurdles that make your product yours. Of course, convenience makes problems feel lighter, like a weight is off your shoulders. That will always be a great feeling. In some cases, it’s a relief to have a quick fix, but what happens when we start to expect the same immediacy from something that does require time and actual effort?

Why does NHT trust the process?
At Now Hear This we focus on what is genuinely worth talking about, not chasing every trend that everyone else is doing. We want to benefit and help clients achieve long-term goals by taking thoughtful steps to bring their vision to life.
That doesn't always mean just posting for the sake of posting; what is the message behind what we are posting? How does this impact people? Are we presenting our client in a way that truly captures their genuine intentions?
Every client’s end goal will be different. There isn’t a perfect system that is used to give everyone the same exact results. Each person has different individual needs and they want to show an audience who they are behind what they are trying to promote. That is where we come in; not to rush the process and post content that doesn’t align, but to work with the client closely to help them grow in a way that satisfies them. We develop trusting relationships and work together to build reliability. After all, with all the time you’ve spent building your vision and chasing your dream, doesn’t it deserve something that’s not done whimsically overnight just because fast is the buzzword of the day?
Now Hear This collaborates with authors, musicians, entrepreneurs, and other creatives to sharpen messaging, refine strategy, and find the most effective ways to reach your audience – without losing the voice that makes you you. Whether you need help evaluating what is still serving your goals, deciding what needs to evolve, or identifying the gaps you have not noticed yet, we can walk through it together.
