Nashville-based singer, songwriter, guitar player and percussionist who has a new single coming out this Friday, April 1st, after having just released another new song earlier this month. She has been crowdfunding towards what will be her tenth album and along the way has launched what she calls an ‘inspirational career coaching’ business that is not just for musicians. She continues to perform regularly, not only in Music City but as far away as San Diego and Hawaii, among other locations. She has also sung up and down the aisles and over the p.a. on 24 – and counting – Southwest Airlines flights. She has been a guest on this show twice before, way back on Episode 52 as well as the second ever episode of NHTE.
“I’m so excited that Southwest (Airlines) is into this, and they kept, like, re-tweeting when I would do it and they would even say, ‘We can’t wait to have you back’ and I just kept doing it and doing it and doing it and the next thing I know I’m being told by Southwest I’m the only person who’s done it more than twice… but I’m the only person in the world that’s done it 24 times.”
“Artists should stop at nothing, especially if they’re DIY, to do whatever they can to get their name out there.”
“My (writers’ round) hosting involved booking the artists, promoting for them, making sure I had backup cables, I had to run the sound board… and then you’re not only introducing the artists, you’re there throughout the entire time… and then also perform. I’d either open the show or end the shows. And you’re constantly fielding booking emails, and someone might cancel on you the day of. It’s what you would expect to run your own business.”
“This… person heard me night after night give free advice out to these artists and anyone who would ask me questions and they were like, ‘You gotta stop doing that. You should turn this into a business, ‘cause you’re giving away all your hard-earned, ya’ know, you’re answering all these questions, and this is something you’ve worked so hard for’.”
“I started touring Europe. I was in Sweden four times in 13 months, Ireland twice in that time, the UK, Denmark.”
“Am I proud of what I’ve released in the past? Absolutely. Would I be where I am today without those songs and those experiences? Heck no. So, I’m grateful for all of that.”
“I just celebrated my ten-year anniversary of living in Nashville on January 10th… It’s a big year. I’m just about to… celebrate this ten years in Nashville with a tenth album.”
“I have been through the deepest darkest depths of hell between the divorce and the pandemic, losing a family member, really injuring my shoulder, I had something going on with my brain.”
“I am so honest, and not that I haven’t been before, but I have definitely held back in the past with my lyrics. Not at all with this (new) album.”
“I’m here to entertain you and I want you to leave here feeling good. It’s my, not my job, I don’t call this a job, I call this, like, my purpose in life is to inspire.”
“I was in a Honda commercial… a couple Augusts ago, I auditioned for and made this Honda commercial.”
