A singer, songwriter, guitar player who has just released a new single – with a video for it on the way. She has made appearances on the American Music Awards and on NBC’s The Voice, along with being a brand ambassador for a handful of different brands, a couple of which she talks about here. She has performed on the main stage at the Texas State Fair, where she opened for Jason Aldean. At one point she was even the first unsigned artist to be featured in the Roland Studio Sessions (presented by the Roland Piano Company), performing with her full band. She has more new music planned for this year as well.
"I wrote in California with my producer, Andrew Lane, and he is awesome. He has won American Music Awards, Billboard awards. He's amazing."
"I lived in California for a little bit of time... I was just there for music, trying the scene out, as everyone always wants to go to L.A. for music and so I said, 'Why not, let's do it, let's try it out,' and so I went over there for about a year, a year-and-a-half, and had an absolute blast. It was a great time."
"I think that's kind of one of the most important messages of songwriting, to just have fun with it."
"Music is very genre-fluid to me. I don't really even see -- I mean, I see genres, ya' know, I can see rock, pop, country, all of that, and they all have their specific little things that they do, but to me, music is music and I'm just such a vast appreciator of everything."
"Sound check is THE most important thing on an outside stage festival."
"I've been doing music for about a decade. And I've done everything from pop to R&B to rock to alternative. You name it, I've pretty much done it."
"He was contacted about Demi (Lovato) needing backup vocals for certain performances and he recommended my name and so, long story short, they invited me down and we had a couple rehearsals, practices, all of that fun stuff and we did the American Music Awards first and then we did The Voice."
"I was bullied heavily, heavily, from eighth grade to about I guess the end of high school. And, it was very bad, very, very bad, had to get the school involved, had to get cops involved, had to move cities because of it -- we moved entire cities -- it was a disaster, to say the least."
"(The Teen Nation Tour shows) are honestly one of the best things I've done in my career."
"Not necessarily now, but, I think that why I liked performing with my full band before is that I used to deal with a lot of stage fright and I was just a little uncomfortable just because of it. And so, having other people on the stage with me was always nice."
"I am moving to Tennessee. I used to live in Nashville, for about a year, a couple years ago, but, we are moving back! So, very excited for that."
