A look back at just some of the highlights from the show's third hundred episodes. Clips are played from an assortment of the guest interviews done between episodes 201 and 300 to celebrate the latest milestone as well as to give listeners a sampling of just some of what was aired over that span.
(Roy Orbison, Jr.) “If only my life were that easy. I wish I was just the son of a famous person, standing in my dad's shadow and I just wanted to play guitar and have my songs known. That would make life so much easier. I wish I was that."
(Scott Page) “While I was out on (tour with) Pink Floyd, I figured I'm going to be out (on tour) for two years, what am I going to do? So I really wanted to study business. And so I took the opportunity at that time to read a lot of business books and kind of really plan on what it was to build a business, get into the startup world."
(Amy Keys) “It's about relationships. It's about being missed when you're gone.... That's my saying... I always tells people, 'I wanna be missed when I'm gone' ... There are... people that when they leave you're like, 'Dang, the energy just left. Why can't they hang all the time? Why can't they be part of this group?' That's who I want to be. That's who I strive to be."
(Mark Schulman) “I think everything we do is being of service. We're all in the service industry. When I'm on stage I'm being of service to P!NK, I'm being of service to my bandmates, I'm being of service to the audience, and my philosophy is, If everybody around me is happy, I'm happy."
(Dave Jenkins) "Everybody in the audience has got their iPhones up and it's like, I don't understand that because when I go to a concert the last thing I want to do is stand there and look through a three-inch screen at what's going on. I want to be in the moment and just listen to the concert and watch it."
(Chris Donohue) "We did... a song where Robert (Plant) didn't sing and he just stood next to me playing harmonica the whole time ... And I got to, in that moment, realize 'I don't know that I belong here with these people, but I am going to make the absolute most of this moment.'"
(Hope Cassity) “After six years of going to doctor after doctor after doctor after doctor and every one of them telling me nothing was wrong, I finally found a doctor who would listen to my symptoms. I explained that I had weight gain and nausea doing shows I would get really nauseous for no reason.”
(Jessica Meuse) "I loved American Idol. I still have friends from that show. They're amazing people. It's an amazing production. And it's very fun. I mean, it's work. It's not everything you see on TV... But it was the education of a lifetime."
(Alan Gogoll) "I spent a few years - I remember doing, like, 16-hour days - just grinding on this technique."
(Justin Johnson) "We sold everything we owned... We bought this small, repo RV... We put all of our cards on the table and we said, 'Ya' know, if this doesn't work at least we can say that we did everything we could do to make this work'."
