The Now Hear This Entertainment podcast has been well received by its listeners and guests, and now carriers are starting to notice too. Effective immediately the weekly show is now available on Stitcher Radio.
“This is terrific news,” said Bruce Wawrzyniak, the president of Now Hear This, Inc., which launched the podcast in late February. “This will open up the potential to practically double the available audience.”
Considered the mobile leader in on-demand news, entertainment, sports and talk radio, Stitcher “appears to be the largest platform for listening on Android and second largest on iOS behind only Apple,” according to Rob Walch, VP Podcaster Relations at Libsyn, the leading podcast hosting platform, according to his company’s metrics.
As of this past October, the Stitcher Radio app had been downloaded more than 12 million times and its content catalog had doubled in the past year, to offering more than 20,000 on-demand podcasts and radio shows.
Wawrzyniak, who hosts the podcast, said, “I have been most pleased with the exposure and reception that NHTE had gotten on iTunes so far. Having Stitcher Radio in the fold now means that these interviews with artists, songwriters, and music business professionals can get out to significantly more listeners, be they up-and-coming entertainers, individuals from the music industry, or, of course, fans.”
Stitcher is integrated with Mazda, Ford, GM, Mini and BMW vehicles. It is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle and Nook devices in the Apple and Google Play stores.
Among others, guests on the podcast so far have included a 2012 top 12 finisher on “American Idol,” a 2013 participant on “The Voice,” a Nashville-based singer/songwriter who is currently #1 in that market on ReverbNation for her genre, and another who was just signed to Desert Sol Records and played last month at South By Southwest (SXSW).
A new episode of Now Hear This Entertainment comes out every Wednesday. The shows are recorded at Crystal Blue Sound Studios near Tampa, Florida.
