Rubilena (Ruby) Rojas, who played for Venezuela at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, is the newest addition to the Now Hear This client roster, it was announced today.

Still active on her native country’s women’s national fast pitch softball team, Rojas has gained on- and off-field attention globally.

As such, Now Hear This will not only undertake a Web presence and video work on her behalf, but branding and the pursuit of corporate sponsors and speaking opportunities as well as media placements and other commercial endeavors.

“This is a very, very exciting development,” Now Hear This President Bruce Wawrzyniak said.  “Ruby has a profound presence in the international sports marketplace and it is an honor to further activate her in both the sports and business communities.

“Furthermore, this reinforces the versatility that we have demonstrated from our music clients to small businesses, and now what is hopefully just the beginning of athlete services.”

Ruby Rojas and Bruce WawrzyniakRojas made headlines in late April when she won Coach of the Year honors on back-to-back days, first from her conference and then from the state, following her first season as Mt. San Antonio College’s (California) head coach of the women’s softball team.  The team posted an impressive 35-4 regular season won-lost record (40-6 overall) under the 31-year old in 2013.

“First off, I am extremely excited to be part of the Now Hear This roster,” Rojas said.  “I know I will be very well taken care of and I feel truly blessed to be under this management.  This has been an exciting year for me professionally, personally, and spiritually.  I am doing what I love best: coaching, playing, and helping young female athletes change their lives one pitch at a time.”

Also currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Sports Administration, Rojas was an Athlete Ambassador under the International Softball Federation, the world governing body for the sport, and has used her off-field opportunities as a platform for her advocacy of female empowerment and more opportunities in education and athletics for young girls.  Her presence on the international sports landscape led her to be sent by the U.S. State Department to Nicaragua earlier this year, putting on a clinic alongside a two-time U.S. Olympic softball athlete.

Now Hear This looks forward to working with Ruby Rojas and raising awareness of her and her initiatives.
