San Francisco-based author Donna Levin – whose fifth novel is on the way – is the newest Now Hear This client, agency president Bruce Wawrzyniak announced today.
The Los Angeles Times called her, “a novelist to keep high on your reading list,” and she has been reviewed by the New York Times as well. Her newest book, The Talking Stick (Skyhorse Publishing), comes out on April 23rd.
Karen Joy Fowler, the PEN/Faulkner award-winning author of The Jane Austen Book Club calls The Talking Stick a “thoroughly engaging, completely entertaining novel by the great Donna Levin.” And, in a piece under the headline DONNA LEVIN’S NEW NOVEL ‘TALKING STICK’ HEADS UP A GOOD SEASON FOR WOMEN’S FICTION, Oblivioni Magazine describes the new novel as “hilarious, moving, transcendent, addictive and more than a little bit controversial.”
“I’m quite flattered that Donna has chosen Now Hear This,” Wawrzyniak said. “I hold all that she has done in very high regard and am grateful for the opportunity to work with her, including helping raise the profile of The Talking Stick. It’s humbling to play a part in her esteemed writing career, and I welcome working for and with her.”
"I'm looking forward to working with Bruce and Now Hear This,” Levin said. “He brings a much-appreciated fresh perspective to spreading the word.”
Levin has also written two books on writing, Get That Novel Written: From Initial Idea to Final Edit and Get That Novel Started: And Keep It Going ‘Til You Finish. She spoke in February at the 20th San Francisco Writers Conference and is now preparing for April 21st when her book’s launch party will feature Bay Area Radio Hall of Famer Peter Finch, in conversation with Donna about The Talking Stick.
Her work is included in Boston University’s Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center and in the California State Library’s collection of California novels.
